The Association
Landscape architecture is the profession which applies artistic and
scientific principles to the planning, design and management of both
natural and built environments.
Professionally executed works of landscape architecture in Canada date from the
late 19th century. Many of these were private estates, public parks and gardens,
housing layouts and regional urban plans.
Landscape Architecture was formally organized as a profession in Canada in 1934,
with the formation of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects and Town Planners.
The Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Landscape Architects is a component
association of the National body.
The members of the Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Landscape Architects work
together as a group to advance the quality of landscape architecture being
practiced in Newfoundland and Labrador, and to enhance the environment in which we live.
